Unlisted archiveRecovered phone // partial files

Do you know whose phone this is?

I found this phone by the lake.

RV park in the woods near Kachess Lake.

It should've been empty.

The screen was cracked. The battery was dead. I took it home, charged it, and found a handful of ordinary vacation clips—trees, the water, some trailers.

The last two were different. I don't know who filmed them. I don't know who else has seen them.

If you recognize the exact RV park, don't post its name.

Before it changed

The first clips look ordinary. Same women, same RV park, nothing obviously wrong.

At the waterFILE_074 // one of them splashing near the shoreline.
By the camperFILE_076 // lunch outside before dark.
The neighborsFILE_079 // meeting the older couple from the next site.

Last files

These four fragments were at the end of the camera roll. Watch them in order.

Clip 01 // two fragments

“There was something past the last row.”

The flashlight finds a scarecrow between the trees. The next file shows the campsite empty, the chairs overturned.

Clip 02 // two fragments

“The phone keeps recording.”

The camera drops hard. The final fragment is from the dirt, still recording whatever happened just out of frame.

“They weren't camping. They were waiting.”

Found behind the phone case

Do you know these women?

Two cut-up prints were tucked behind the case. No names, no date, no note. They look like they were taken at the same RV park.

If either face looks familiar, save the image. Don't post the location.

Information wanted

If you know anything, leave it here.

Names. Dates. A campsite number. Something you remember seeing near the water. Even a small detail could help identify the phone or the two women in the photographs.

Don't include private information about someone else unless it directly relates to the phone or these photographs.

This opens your email app with the tip filled in so you can review it before sending. If it doesn't open, email misteredie1@gmail.com.

“I know that stretch of shoreline. The bent cedar behind the woman in the first print is still there. There used to be one more campsite past it, but the park stopped renting that spot years ago.”

“My parents took us there in the summer of 1978. One night we heard somebody walking around the trailer and tapping the windows. Dad packed before sunrise. He never told us what he saw outside.”

“Don't look for a road in those photographs. Look at the scarecrow near the tree line. It wasn't there when we arrived. Every morning it was closer to the water.”
